Letter from the Editor

As I sit writing this letter at the end of May, it finally feels like we are turning the corner with the coronavirus.

This year, my husband and I will have been a couple for 20 years. We started dating in February 2002 when I was 20 years old, and we’ve been together ever since. We got married in 2010, had our first baby in 2013, and after spending half my life with him, I can say that we are as in love today as we’ve ever been.

It’s often said that love finds us when we least expect it. That we don’t find love, it finds us. As I reflect on the stories in this issue, that maxim seems truer than ever.

In this issue, that dream finally became a reality. With its otherworldly romance, ballet marries particularly well with bridal fashion, so we partnered with a beautiful, talented, and local dancer, Dee Evasic, to bring movement and grace to diaphanous veils and sparkling headpieces.

After years of staying close to home because of the pandemic, this issue we have a serious case of wanderlust. And we’re dreaming big.

As the editor of this magazine, I spend a lot of time thinking about weddings and planning ideas for each issue. It is somewhat ironic that I seldom get a chance to simply be a wedding guest.

Out of all the weddings you've attended, what was the most unique food item on the menu?

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, wed at Windsor Castle on May 19, the world watched, rapt.
