FOR LUXE EVENT LINEN OWNERS Colleen Galacz and Crystal Watkins, creating a gorgeous wedding tablescape is akin to creating the perfect outfit. Before co-founding their Troy-based, upscale event rental company, Galacz and Watkins both earned degrees in fashion merchandising and design at Central Michigan University and worked as retail buyers in the apparel industry. The two launched their business in 2005, and since then, that fashion-focused background has helped them create unforgettable, trendsetting event décor for weddings, galas and other special events. In fact, Galacz says, the design pictured here was inspired by many facets of current fashion and home décor. “Velvet of course is the fabric of the year, while the mauve and merlot accents complete the look,” she says. “We love to mix fabrics and textures while pairing color combinations that are unexpected yet stunning.”
Fresh Take: Put a new twist on an existing trend to create a unique look for your tablescape. For example, this elongated centerpiece created by LUXE Event Linen is an update to the greenery runners of the last few seasons, says co-owner Colleen Galacz.
Lush Look: Galacz took inspiration from current fashion to create this luxurious tablescape. “Velvet is everywhere, and we chose the Ocean Velvet table linen for its combination of color and fabric,” she says. “The warm, lush feel of velvet paired with the cool ocean color made for the perfect base for our design.” Galacz finished the look with rose gold accents and florals in a gradual blend of deep reds and pale pinks.
